What is polyethylene?
Polyethylene is a type of polymer that was first discovered by German chemist Hans von Peschmann in 1898. This chemical quickly gained a special place in the packaging industry and became the most widely used raw material for the production of various types of plastic bags, plastic films, and geomembranes.
More interestingly, as of 2017, more than 100 million tons of polyethylene resin are produced annually, accounting for 34% of the world’s total plastic market.

Polyethylene, abbreviated as PE, is the most common plastic used today. This polymer has various types, including:
